The hand ranking is the most basic aspect of the

The kicker is one more important rule. If and when two players get the same poker hand, the kicker is used. For example a pair of aces. One of the players may posses a king in his hand while the opposing player may have a Jack – the player holding the king in his cards will take the pot.

| Royal Straight Flush | This is the best of all hands and even if you play all the time, you will rarely get it. It is made of up all of the same suite, ten through Ace. It is a straight and a flush and the royal part comes from it being made up of the highest cards also. |
| Straight Flush | It is five consecutive cards of the same suit. Suits stand for spades, hearts, clubs or diamonds. The highest possible straight flush is a Royal Flush. A Royal Flush includes the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten of the same suit. |
| Four Of A Kind | Four cards of the same rank, as example four kings, plus any fifth card. As it is, the higher the rank the better it is.. |
| Full House | Three cards of the same rank, with a pair of another rank. For example, K-K-K-9-9. The higher ranking three cards determines which full house beats another. |
| Flush | Five cards of the same suit. For example, the of 10-8-4-3-2 of hearts. flushes are ranked from the top card on down. For example defeats K-Q-J-8-5, and a Q-J-9-8-7 flush defeats Q-J-9-8-3. If two flushes have exactly the same cards, like AJ976 of spades versus A-J-9-7-6 of hearts, this is a tie if this occurs the pot will be split. |
| Straight | Five cards in a sequence of different suits. For example, A-K-Q-J-10. When two straights are shown, the highest card determines which player wins. An Ace can be used to make either a “Broadway” straight of A-K-Q-J-T or a “wheel” straight of 5-4-3-2-A. “Around the corner” straights like 3-2-A-K-Q are not allowed in this game. |
| Three Of A Kind | Three cards of the same rank, like 888 with two unpaired cards. The rule dictates that a higher ranked three of a kind defeats a lower ranked three of a kind such as 10-10-10-3-2 beats 8-8-8-A-Q. In flop games it is possible for both players to have the same three of a kind, in which case the two unrelated “kicker” cards would reflect on which player is the winner; K-K-K-J-2 will beat a K-K-K-8-5. If the two hands are identical, the pot shall be split. |
| Two Pair | Two cards of one rank, two cards of a different rank and a kicker of a third rank. For example K-K-6-6-2. K-K-3-3-2 defeats J-J-10-10-9. Two hands of the same ranks, like K-K-Q-Q-5 opposing K-K-Q-Q5 split the pot. |
| One Pair | Two cards of the same rank, and three unrelated cards. As an example, K-K-J-9-4. A higher pair defeats a lower ranking pair. If players get the same pair, the unrelated “kicker” cards are valued in order, so K-K-Q-3-2 will beat K-K-7-6-5. |
| High Card | Poker hands with no pair or any of the other ranking values above. When comparing no pair hands, the highest card determines the winner, using each card in order if necessary, so A-K-Q-9-4 will beat A-K-Q-8-5. |
